GIS' very own Dr Li Jingmei was one of 15 winners of this year's L'Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science International Fellowship awards.

These Fellowships help young women scientists from around the world to take up research positions in other countries, allowing them to pursue their research in some of the world's most prestigious laboratories.

Jingmei was recognised for the research she does in breast cancer. Her work aims to identify genetic factors that may give rise to aggressive tumours.

The ceremony, which was held in Paris on 19th March 2014, also saw the crowning of five Laureates.

Congratulations to Jingmei, and kudos to her excellent work which has received due recognition!
